A DND character I originally used for a Halloween oneshot, before before being revamped and used for another campaign.

The basic premise behind him was to make the world's most pathetic wet cat dhampir possible, so I also wanted his design to look pretty harmless too :D The only real difference between his original design and now is that he had brown hair before, and was rogue class.

He's a bit of a wimp, but he's not necessarily weak. In his attempts to not be found out as a dhampir he tries not to do anything suspicious like drinking blood or looting corpses (he's an opportunistic hunter, he doesn't kill people except for animals like a deer or rabbit for blood) He can also satisfy his craving through raw flesh.

Appearance

River is rather short and appears young and underweight for his age. Their hair is rather choppily cut with uneven lengths. The bottom of his hair appears more like a bob cut, while the top of his hair is shorter and more wild, ending in curls. He has two longer sections of hair framing his face that match his bob in length. He has vibrant red eyes that appear to almost subtley glow in the dark, and a pair of small fangs.

Personality

River is rather skittish and looks prepared to run at a moments notice. He's much more calm when discussing his hobbies, or if he doesn't feel threatened. They try to keep their vampiric traits hidden due to fear of being ostracized at best, and outright attacked at worst. River prefers to live a calm, simple, quiet life, spending his free time painting. They can be motivated to fight in order to protect those River sees as vulnerable and/or needing protection.

He is fairly resistent to needing to feed on other people, but he can only restrain himself for a few days before it starts to become much more difficult for him. River is able to sustain himself on the blood of animals (instead of just people) as well as raw flesh, such as eating the corpse of something recently killed.

Biography

Early Years

His family ran a very small winery, and grew their own berries for it. River discovered his love for art by using the various leftover berries as paints. He and his family all lived together, sharing a small simple life. At some point a dhampir had attacked them, leaving River forced to become one as well. The state of the rest of his family is unknown. (I haven't planned that far yet.) River ended up scarred from the attack, and ran off into the woods to hide from society due to fear of being killed for being a dhampir. To try and survive, he would eat raw flesh and animal blood, and try to sell various paintings and wood sculptures for money. He's not a very skilled hunter, so he was more of a scavenger.

Campaign Stuff

Every time he's tried to hide anything in the campaign he's failed horribly and ended up being known by barbarians in the town as being metal AF for killing a troll by biting it HGKDLSA River has so far killed 2 creatures by biting them. Y'know, trying to lay real low. River has poor charisma but high constitution because I want him to be really hard to kill despite looking like a wet napkin.

His background is being a wandering artist who tries to sell his works, which are paintings and wood carvings/sculptures :D His primary clientele were originally deep gnomes in the Underdark, so he's learned Undercommon because of this. (He has the failed merchant background because I thought it was really funny and fit the wet cat vibe, so he eventually moved out of the Underdark because he was struggling to find more people to sell to)

I picked monk class so it'll work with the constitution-based bite better, and because he doesn't really wear armor or have weapons aside from basic ones.
